No offense to Blogger. I will actually miss it since I still think it's easier but I am trying to make this as easy as possible for my friends.
Right now, I am working on getting the actual site up so that you don't have to type in so much to see the site. I will let you know when this is done!
Thanks so much for your patience and friendship,
Christina

Working On New Domain and Autism
Hello World.
I had planned on having a new post today if not more than one. It is now 3:21pm and I am still trying to figure out how to change this over to my new format using Wordpress through Godaddy.com. If I do not have a heartattack before that happens, there will be some great changes.
During the first part of the day I have done a lot of research on Autism and chelation so before you do anything check back tommorrow. I have to have had this figured out by then. If you do not see anything then please do not give up on me. I have to go out flying tommorrow and will be in NYC overnight. I will be back on Wednesday and have Thursday off. It's a busy week but I will get it done. I am even checking out a few books and some reading I printed off. One of the books I am waiting for is by Jenny McCarthy's book Healing and Preventing Autism: A Complete Guide.
I will talk more later. Have a great night.

Yeah! The delivery company brought my juicer just in time. I had to get to the airport by 1530 (3:30pm) yesterday and I was a little sad that it was probably going to come while I was gone. I wanted to be the first one to try it and I didn't want to wait three days to do so.
It's a little more plastic that I thought it would be however, that's simply because I got so excited that I didn't pay attention to the watts when reading the ad on Ebay. I really don't think it will be a problem since it's engineered grade polymer and still looks great. The size is perfect for my kitchen and the important parts that actually process the foods are stainless steel. The difference between the 700 watt and the 750 watt are a difference of plastic or chrome. They are both 14,000 rpm's and I do not see me knowing the difference. The bottom has a really nice rubber footing, which is a definite plus because this thing has some power to it. I have to admit that it scared me when I first tried it!I am not sure if I would mind a solid color bowl instead of the clear gray plastic because it's sort of like the CSI of fruits and vegetables. You know when the blood gets splattered all over? That's what it was like when the food goes in! Perhaps I am not as tough as I thought.
For my first try, I used a couple of apples, a pear that was apparently not going to be eaten otherwise and two carrots. Note to self: please remember to put the juicer's cup under the spout! Oh my was that good. I recommend that combo to all.
Next, I used beets and the leaves and some carrots. I first put in the beets, then the greens and then the carrots. I folded up the leaves to give them more density and followed with the carrots to sort of make sure it was all pushed through but some of the leaves still didn't make it. I may have pushed too quickly so I will have to try it again later. The combination was pretty good however, I thought it was a little bitter so I added some raw agave nectar. Not bad. Still more veggie-healthy than the yummy yummy apple/pear/carrot one that I think even my 6year old would drink.
I cleaned the machine in between both combinations which took a matter of seconds so I didn't mind at all and was actually very pleased with. The plastic parts rinse off with no trouble and the product comes with a brush to clean out the filter. Definitely make sure that you clean out the filter right away. Breville says to soak it for 10 minutes but even that's not necessary if you do it immediately. I did place it in hot soapy water while I rinsed off the other pieces so maybe that did make it easier. Anyway, I made 4 cups of two different kinds of juices, which I cleaned in between each combination and had it all cleaned for the day in less than 5 minutes.
Woo Hoo!I cannot wait to get home tomorrow and head up to Findlay Market to get more fruits and veggies!

Food We Consume And It's Biblical Translation
As some of you know, I have been reading a lot lately about different types of dietary lifestyles. I would like to lose a few pounds but I also would like to use food to cure or at least control some of the abnormal health problems I face.
The first book that I had picked out from the library was Natalia Rose's Raw Food Life Force Energy. I liked a lot of what she was talking about probably since I love fruit and vegetables. I already eat raw baby carrots, green beans, broccoli and cauliflower. Who hasn't been to a party with a veggie platter? And, some things sounded interesting enough to try. While still looking it over, I met another flight attendant who's sister is really into this. Apparently, the woman has diabetes and wanted to eat better. Her and her husband have a business in it now and do not eat anything that goes over 115 degrees. Now, I am all for eating raw fruits and veggie and I cannot wait to try the "green lemonade" but nothing cooked? Forget that! Her business is doing great but the diabetes? Well, she still needs her insulin.
Another factor in the Raw Food idea is that certain foods should not be eaten with other foods. This means when you eat that steak, no baked potato, no mashed garlic potatoes (yum!) and no sweet potato either. You may have a raw salad (with no cheese or nuts or dried fruit) and a steamed veggie. You can still have a sweet potato but only 3-4 hours before the steak or 6-8 hours after it.
I like some of the principles but am not sure if this is for me. No offense intended.
I also still have the Raw Food Detox Diet and The Complete Book of Raw Food (recipes) and am thrilled to use some of the principles and foods. My favorite book so far, perhaps because it is based off of the Bible, is The Maker's Diet.
This book written by author, Jordan S. Ruban N.M.D., Ph.D., and is based on the Bible and how he used food as written in the Bible to save himself from the ravishing affects of his Crohns Disease. Dr. Ruban combines scientific fact about how the body works, the food we eat and should eat as it is written by God, personal stories of himself and others and what he calls The Maker's Diet: Your 40-Day Health Experience. A lot of the same foods that are in the Raw Food Diet are in here to and should be as they are made by God. However, he debates the validity of the whole alkiline/acidic combinations as written in the Raw Food books. Dr. Rubin also describes each of the fad diets and why they are not complete along with any good points in them.
Earlier today, I made an unfortunate comment on another blog saying that a Camel is a putrid animal in regards to eating it's meat. Wrong words. What I had read and was confused on is that pigs (swine) eat putrid things and we should avoid eating pork. I was seriously questioned and almost rudely so but I did apparently make an offensive comment because of the word I used. I was told that many people eat Camels (?) and that it cannot be anymore unclean that American factory farming. The rest of the second response when I tried to respond was this:
"Biblical dietary laws were created in a time and a place that are very different from our own. I’m going to exclude Kashrut (Jewish dietary law, based on both scripture and tradition, and something I’m fairly familiar with in theory if not in practice) from this argument, but last I checked, most Christians do not adhere to dietary laws (outside of fasting, abstinence, and occasional avoidance of intoxicating or stimulating beverages (i.e. LDS)). That said, I am not religious, and this is not a religious blog, so I’d prefer not to exclude anyone of any culture by painting certain foods as “unclean”. I prefer culinary curiosity and food science to inform my decisions on what to eat."
Since I didn't get to really explain the situation since it was a post about Findlay Market (although I unintentionally started it), I didn't get to fully explain why I said the animal was unclean. I am sure that the animals placed on this Earth, regardless of where you think they came from, have not changed and therefore the reasoning has not changed. The Camel is one of the animals that only has one single stomach. Whereas cows and goats have 4 compartments in their stomachs. They are called ruminants because they ruminate (chew the cud). You can read more about this by clicking on the 'goat link'. From what I have read, been told and saw for myself when I was little and my aunt had pigs is that they eat pretty much anything. Their digestive system is not designed to digest it all properly and then we ingest the putrid food that they ate when we eat them.
This brings about Julie's thought regarding the American factory farms and also why people choose to be vegetarians. That is a whole other post though. And, a good reason to buy local and from a farm you trust. While God gave us these animals to eat, it can be done more humanely.
I welcome anyone's input on this subject (or any other) as always. Thanks and have a blessed day!

How To Make Your Life Better
I like to take each new day that God gives me and try to make it count.
There are often times when I wonder what my purpose is. Why am I here? How do I count?
Today I am in Kansas City, MO and ran in to another flight attendant that I haven't seen in quite a while. We had a chance to talk over breakfast about some things that are happening to our friends that affect us because they are our friends. Both women have terminal cancer and both women have completely different outlooks regarding it. One of these women knows that God is with her and will keep her always. The other is not quite so sure. For both I pray however, for one I pray that God comes to her and comforts her so that she is not as scared, angry or sad. Whatever she is feeling. The Lord has saved me many times through my own trials and for this I praise Him.
Then, earlier, while I was working out, I had the opportunity to talk to another hotel guest about some of the natural products that God has given us that heal and nourish. This man was near 50 and in great physical shape and I had to push myself to make it 20 minutes on the elliptical before I fell over, mostly from being so hot. I was inspired by his dedication to even go that long. I was able to offer some nutritional tips for he and his wife that he didn't know about. And, I learned them from someone else! The world goes around.
If we all keep learning and sharing, the world will go around that much better.

Raw Food Chocolate Cake! by Andrea Primm
In California you can get a 'Date Shake'. I have been told that it taste like chocolate so there's no wonder why a cook would use them in a chocolate recipe. With only 230 calories, 2 grams of Protein and no fat in about 3 dates, they are a naturally sweet option. Leaving out the flour and sugar immediately raises the nutritional bounty.
3 cups Walnuts
20 Medjool Dates, pitted
2/3 cup Cacao Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
Use processor to grind the walnuts and salt, till the size of salt grains but not so long it becomes oily. Add the cacao powder, dates and sea salt and process further until it looks like cake crumbs and can be pushed into a cake mold.

I Hit The Jackpot
...of chiropractors!
A few weeks ago a friend of mine recommended a chiropractor to me that has a masseuse in the office. I finally made an appointment, which I went to yesterday.
Here's a little background.
I had a chiropractor years ago that was horrible. I felt like I was in a one size fits all situation. I also never knew that insurance companies may cover a therapeutic massage in conjunction with the massage. Move forward to my Ohio life. I found a wonderful Chiropractor. He asks you what has been going on and what you have done. Then the treatment was based on that. But, the massage was terrible and they never quite figured out how to bill it so I had to pay extra.
I found another chiropractor after a car accident that I thought was amazing after my first visit. They did a lot of fancy tests and asked a lot of questions. The massage was and still is (if I went back) great. The problem is that I was only going for the massage because the chiropractor was too rough.
The chiropractor that I went to yesterday and the massage was fantastic. I had the massage first. She was great and worked on me based on what I said and what she found. Then, she told Dr. Ron (the chiropractor) what she found, which is that I had a lot going on in my Rhomboids. He talked to me for quite a while including other things like diet and exercise. He adjusted my back in new ways as well as traditional and I feel great. Also, Dr. Ron did not try to get me back in 2-3 times a week. He told me things to do after the treatment and to call when I felt I was ready to come back. I can call 24 hours a day on his cell phone too.
Crazy! This is a definite recommendation.
