Raw Food Chocolate Cake! by Andrea Primm

How on earth can one make a chocolate cake with no flour, no sugar (or at least Splenda), no eggs? So, I consulted youtube.com. There in front of me was not one but many recipes. They used things like Hemp Seeds and other things I have never heard of. The one that seemed the easiest and from stories my husband has told me of California, the most desirable, is also the quickest.

In California you can get a 'Date Shake'. I have been told that it taste like chocolate so there's no wonder why a cook would use them in a chocolate recipe. With only 230 calories, 2 grams of Protein and no fat in about 3 dates, they are a naturally sweet option. Leaving out the flour and sugar immediately raises the nutritional bounty.

3 cups Walnuts
20 Medjool Dates, pitted
2/3 cup Cacao Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt

Use processor to grind the walnuts and salt, till the size of salt grains but not so long it becomes oily. Add the cacao powder, dates and sea salt and process further until it looks like cake crumbs and can be pushed into a cake mold.
